Volunteer Opportunity: CIBC Run for the Cure Leadership Volunteer
Organization: Canadian Cancer Society – Nanaimo
Duration: February 3, 2025 – October 5, 2025

The Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure is the largest single-day, volunteer-led event in Canada supporting the breast cancer cause. This 5K or 1K walk/run will take place on Sunday, October 5, 2025, bringing communities together in the fight against breast cancer. Volunteers are essential in organizing and leading this impactful event.

Available Volunteer Roles:
The Canadian Cancer Society is currently recruiting for multiple leadership committee positions across various locations, including:

Director, Community Engagement
Fundraising & Stewardship Lead
Registration & Finance Lead
Run Day Experience Lead
Site and Route Lead
Sponsorship Lead

Ideal Volunteer Candidate:
Passionate about the breast cancer cause.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated with excellent time management skills.
Well-connected within their community and enjoys event planning.
18 years or older, with the ability to complete the Canadian Cancer Society code of conduct.

Volunteer Commitment:
6-month commitment (May through October 2025).
Attend committee meetings (bi-weekly to monthly).
Work independently on role responsibilities (4–6 hours per month, with increased workload in August & September).
In-person availability required for event weekend (October 4 & October 5, 2025).
